Objectives:
To provide pharmaceutical care and dispensing in accordance with pharmacy regulations and company policies. To provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care for MediSystem patients. Staff at the distribution site, work in teams as well as with other support staff to administer appropriate drug regimens for staff. Pharmacists in these roles act as the primary heath care contact to the LTC facilities’ medical and nursing staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with pharmacy regulations and company policies in order to provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care for MediSystem patients.
2. Ensure the vision of clinical pharmacy services to MediSystem’s clients and residents is upheld.
3. Ensure the vision of MediSystem’s service is provided to our clients
4. To assist in optimizing client relations.
5. To assist in operational efforts and in particular new home openings. Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
1. License to practice as a pharmacist in the Province of Alberta, in good standing; with the completion of PEBC exams.
2. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent degree.
3. Two years experience as a supervisor, or pharmacist.
Skills:
1. Good written and verbal communication skills.
2. Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
3. Organized, excellent prioritization skills, and adept at performing multiple tasks.
4. Must be accurate. Check data-entry and multi-dose packaging within productivity guidelines.
5. Excellent working relationships with staff, facility representatives, residents, and healthcare professionals.
MediSystem has traditional hours of operation with typical weekday shifts being 9:00-5:00, 10:00-6:00 or 11:00-7:00 with weekend rotations of 1 in 4 Saturday or Sunday. (12:00-6:00).
