Job Title: Drug Destruction Technician Department:Pharmacy Report To:Clinical Pharmacy Manager Daily supervision: Consultant Pharmacists Objectives Summary: Under supervision of the consultant pharmacists, organize drug destruction schedule, document and maintain records as required by Ministry guidelines, and arrange for Stericycle pick up as required. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Working with the Consultant Pharmacist(s), Technicians will organize the schedule to complete drug destruction, emergency box check, and stock expiry check when Consultant is physically at the facility. Technicians will also document drug destruction as per Ministry guidelines and arrange for Stericycle pickup as required and perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the consultant pharmacist(s). KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS • High School graduate • Organized, detail oriented, visual acuity and manual dexterity appropriate for handling strip packs and labels • Positive, cooperative and team-oriented attitude This job description is only an outline of the major duties and responsibilities of the job.
