Pharmacy Technician – Data Technician – Calgary, Alberta
Part Time
Objectives: To ensure all technical requirements of dispensing prescriptions are performed in accordance with provincial regulations and company policies.
Duties:
· Enter incoming and new prescriptions, refills and prescription changes
· Set up and maintain patient profiles and records
· Prepare prescription and label printouts as well as Pharmacist check-screen reports
· Prepare all prescriptions, including limited-use prescriptions, and blister-card packaging
· Maintain heat-sealing and dispensing equipment
· Process narcotic authorizations and count sheets
· Count, label and sort multi-dose packages after processing for shipping
· Distribute incoming communications
· Prepare billing reports, receipts and filing
Education / Experience
· Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Diploma and/or working towards Registered Pharmacy Technician designation
· 1-2 years’ work experience in a retail, hospital or long-term care setting is an asset
· Excellent organization and time management skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· A team player and able to work with minimal supervision
· Basic computer skills
· Excellent customer service skills
